Java Edition 🍵

Java Edition is, in our opinion, the most complete version of the game. It allows you to modify the game, host servers, join worlds with friends, and much more. Let’s dive deeper into what it offers.

Compatible Devices 💻

  • Windows/MacOS/Linux: This edition runs perfectly on any PC with these operating systems, as long as you have Java installed. If you’re playing on versions higher than 1.12, you’ll need Java 8. But don’t worry! The game comes with its own version of Java, so it’s rare to encounter issues.

Game Modification 🛠️

  • You can install mods using Forge or plugins with Spigot/Paper.

  • Are you a fan of minigames? Here at PixelHost, we have plenty ready for you to enjoy!

Common Issue 😅Frequent Error ❌: "I can’t launch my server with mods on MacOS."

Solution ✔️: Make sure you have Java 8 installed. If the problem persists, check that the mods are compatible with your version of Minecraft.

Bedrock Edition 🛏️

Bedrock Edition can be a bit more complicated to understand in terms of compatibility, but don’t worry, we’ll explain it!

Compatible Devices 📱

  • Windows 10: The only version of Windows compatible with Bedrock Edition.

  • iOS/Android: Available on all mobile devices. You can find it in the App Store or Google Play.

  • Consoles: Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch support this edition.

Important Note ⚠️On consoles, you cannot enter IP addresses to join third-party servers. There are workarounds, but we recommend researching based on your device.

Game Modification 🔧

  • Bedrock Edition doesn’t support mods like Java Edition, but you can use behavior packs to alter some game mechanics.

  • If you want to use plugins, you’ll need to install NukkitX or Pocketmine on your server. Each has its pros and cons, so we recommend doing a bit of research to choose the one that best fits your needs.

Common Issue 😵Frequent Error ❌: "I can’t find a mod that works on Bedrock Edition."

Solution ✔️: Remember, Bedrock doesn’t support traditional mods. However, you can use behavior packs or set up a server with NukkitX or Pocketmine to use plugins.
